What a powerful fact. Lets just digest for a minute how many billions of people that must equate to... an unprecedented amount (or, in layman’s terms ‘loads’).  Imagine how you could increase traffic to your website if you managed to reach just a small proportion of these people. What does that really mean? (here comes the science bit, but as short and sweet and non-technical as possible).

SEO at the most basic level, involves optimising your website so it’s search engine friendly, which means that Google can easily see all the relevant content on your site.

When a visitor to a search engine (let’s call it, Google) types in a query, your web pages will appear in the natural rankings (also known as Search Engine Results Pages or 'SERPS'), because Google has indexed them as being relevant to the search terms used.

So basically, SEO is targeting the right search terms, and strategically incorporating those search terms your website’s pages and in back links to your website from other websites.
