Quantum SFX | B2B Website Migration

Quantum SFX Logo

Quantum SFX are a special effects company based in Melksham. They supply bespoke effects to the entertainment industry worldwide, from large-scale concerts and tours, to one-off spectaculars and popular TV shows. Quantum SFX have worked with a pretty impressive catalogue of clients including Adele, Black Sabbath and Muse (pretty cool, eh?).

The Brief

Quantum SFX had five (yes, five!) websites. They were, in their own words, ‘completely chaotic’ and not very pleasing on the eye. They wanted more traffic from organic search to each of the five sites. During their first phone call to Noisy Little Monkey, they were told in frank terms that the best idea would be to consolidate their websites into one amazing website which looked great, showcased their work effectively and was optimised for search terms applicable to their industry.

“What we liked the most about working with Noisy Little Monkey was their creativity, their openness and their diligence. They thought through everything our website needed and reflected our personality, even in the smallest details. Despite giving them a gruelling deadline, the team were happy and accommodating at all times, going above and beyond to deliver our new site on time.”

The Approach

After an in-depth chat at Quantum’s offices over a cup of tea, we pulled together a detailed brief which described a shared understanding of what the client needed to achieve from their new website. We agreed that it should allow visitors to:

  • Explore the Quantum SFX portfolio and showcase the range of services they offer

  • Easily make an enquiry

  • See Quantum SFX’s social activity

  • Sign up to a newsletter

The kick-off meeting also helped us identify a ton of constraints and opportunities which we would need to factor into the new site build. We drew up a timeline, agreed expectations and set off to create something wonderful within their deadline.

Most Quantum SFX enquiries come through via telephone, so we made sure that their phone number was prominent at the top of each page and created a tracked link to help Quantum SFX measure how many phone enquiries were being driven through their website. We also created a click-to-call link for the phone number, so that any telephone enquiries could be made quickly through mobile.

We knew that imagery and video would need to do most of the talking on page, but that the site needed a good deal of optimised copy to stand a good chance of ranking. We completed thorough search term research and used this information to create pages which represented the way that Quantum SFX’s target audience searched for specific products.

With all those images and video, making sure that the website had a swift download speed was another factor which landed at the top of our priority list. We made sure that all images and video content were compressed, optimised and mobile responsive so that they would load quickly. We even drew up guidelines to help Quantum SFX do this themselves after we’d finished the build (we’re nice like that).

Once their new site was completed, we worked with Quantum SFX three months after the launch to offer support and a helping hand, just in case anything on the site broke or didn’t work as planned. We don’t leave clients in the lurch!

The Results

After ten weeks and countless updates via email and Skype, we delivered a website which lead the way in terms of innovative design and eye-catching visuals. It shouts, “this is what Quantum SFX can do, and they’re great at it!” Take a look for yourself if you need more than just our word for it.
